Audio recordings of Casey Anthony’s interview with Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators offer new details about the mother of Caylee Anthony as she was verbally pummled for the truth.
Susan Constantine listened to the statements Anthony made a day after she was arrested and charged with child neglect, filing a false statement and obstructing a criminal investigation.
Constantine said she heard deception from Anthony, who has maintained she left her daughter with a person officials say doesn’t exist — a baby sitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.
Investigator: Did Zenaida give you any money that day you last saw Caylee?
Anthony, “No. I would not have sold my daughter. If I wanted to really just get rid of her, I would’ve just left her with my parents and I would’ve left. I would’ve moved out. I would’ve given my mom custody.”
Anthony’s high-school friend told detectives that Casey Anthony did not want to have the child and was exploring adoption. Her mother, Cindy Anthony, opposed that.
Casey Anthony was asked a yes-or-no question but said a lot more. “Too much information is a true sign of lying,” observed Susan Constantine.
Is your daughter in a better place? . . . Are you worried about her?
“No, she’s not, I’m absolutely petrified. If she was with her family right now, she’d be in the best place. She’s not. She’s with someone that I absolutely do not trust.”
The detectives insinuate they think the child is dead and Anthony knows where the body is.
Constantine says Anthony has “a bit of sarcasm in her voice. She is also nervous when she says ‘absolutely’ twice. She fumbles for a word that will add validity to her statement. She says ‘absolutely scared,’ and that is probably the most telling sign of deception. She is also quite rehearsed in her statements.”
Who exerts the most pressure on you?
Anthony: Um, my mom does, absolutely.
Friends told investigators that Anthony and her mother had problems in the past, including Anthony stealing money from her family. However, Cindy Anthony described her daughter as her “best friend” during an unusually detailed bond hearing in July.
“I am not convinced by Casey’s tone in her voice that she felt controlled by her mom. A genuine emotion is lower and softer. Her words were not congruent with her vocal tone,” Susan Constantine

I wish the police would show to Casey the photos of her dancing during the time Caylee is “missing”. Ask Casey to explain happy, joyous, fun behavior during a sad, tragic and pathetic time. I’d love to see her explain that away.
Why haven’t the police dug up the concrete in the back of the grandmothers house. When she borrowed the shovel, it could have been to bury the baby there. When she said to her mother that she knows who has caylee and that she’s close, it could be because she’s right in the back yard. Maybe that’s why she’s not too worried, she doesn’t think anyone will bring up the patio.
No kidding! Deception is an understatement. She’s the dictionary definition of a sociopath. The detectives must have been pulling their hair out in the interview – going around in circles and basically, only getting an “uh-huh” from Casey to almost every question.
Damn her.
What I don’t understand is why the detectives didn’t ask her when it was determined that her ‘normal’ day of dropping off Caylee at the ‘steps’, going off to work at Universal, etc were lies, what she REALLY did on a ‘normal’ day…that day in particular.
And how she, a caring loving mother never saw the inside of the apartment where she left her child everyday. Where did she pick her up? Also at the foot of the steps?
Haven’t the police talked to ‘Jeff’ who ‘worked with Casey’ and ALSO had children whom ‘Zenaida’ took care of? Who could verify that Zenaida exists?
It’s like once the detectives determined the Jeff guy was fired from Universal in 2002 that they just dropped that portion of the investigation. I would have continued it in order to further tear her story apart.
You could tell Casey was lying, it did sound rehearsed, and I hope they throw the book at her for whatever they can get her for, be it only child neglect and fraud.
SHES A MURDERER
There must be enough evidence; shovel, gas cans, decomposition, chloroform, cadaver dogs scent in two places, no such babysitter,
lie after lie after lie about everything. What more do you need besides a body which you will probably never find. Put her in jail, charge her with murder see how fast she talks then…if not fry her.
She is a total head wrecker-This is farcial- this is insane-only this is not a comedy. She still speaks about email’n the nanny during the day from work (at the job she does not have at universal) towards the end of the interview-the work that does not exist-in the building she has admitted she does not have an office in. This is crazy.
I think the detectives heads were ina total spin with her-I think they could not even think clearly- hat with the names & addresses of invisible people & places- the old numbers,the new numbers, numbers saved to the sim, numbers saved to the phone- the phone that was lost, last seen on her desk at universal-she filed a report, on that to the security at universal- excellent point, what was a normal day in the life of her?
Thinks she said, that I feel could prove revealing-she di not report-because she did not know what to do(true), She mentioned she was scared, because of things she had seen on tv/movies of involving police(this is also true-she was scared, cause she had seen tv shows like,csi, she feared involving the family, as she knew her mom would involve the police)She provided way too much details of unimportant things-a shed near the sawgrass apartments(which is where I would have begun searching, Zanny would be responsible for anything found at that location, she provided Jeff’s son’s name Zac, and indeed Jeff’s middle name-Michael-. She denid spending the night of June 9th with Ricardo Morales-instead stating that he & the police were mistaken-it was the 9th of july-
She is so not unlike Scott Peterson, she will maintain her innocence-and her lie till the end of time-
I just wish the police would dig up that slab of cement in the Anthony’s back yard..I also believe that Casey’s brother Lee has helped her get rid of the body, and he is still helping her. I tell you that Casey sure can tell some Whoopers..but one thing for sure Some one saw what she did to her daughter and that person is GOD and she won’t be able to lie or hide from him he knows what she done and he saw her do it..
In the 431 pages of legal documents (online) concerning this case, one of Casey’s friends mentioned an area behind a school yard to which they used to ride bikes to picnic and hang-out when they were middle schoolers…..a place readily known by some kids, but not generally well-known by adults…Was a cadaver dog ever taken to this area? Just an idea that’s been haunting me.
I listened to the tapes from Universal…I cant believe the authorities have the patience to even talk to this extremely evil person. With all the evidence stacked against her, and there is a ton of it. all shes getting charged with is bad checks. Something is

Casey has explaned why she was out party,she said the baby-sitter went there alot.This women has a stupid answer for everything.I really hope and pray She rots in jail for what she has done to caylee.she deserves the same fate!!
Why hasn’t anyone ever asked where Casey went after she “dropped” Caylee off with the nanny? We all know she didn’t go to work, so where was she? Also. how can you live with someone and they not know you don’t have a job? You have to know someone is not working. Where are the pay stubs? Her parents are the most ignorant people when it comes to raising children.
What I think is so ridiculous is that Casey claims that she wasn’t cooperating with police originally out of fear – because of a supposed threat that something would happen to Caylee yet, she publicly gave the name of this (now obviously fictitious) nanny and an address and claims this person stole her!!! Good GRIEF! It seems that they have PLENTY of evidence to get a conviction! As Nancy Grace would say, “She should FaRY!”
Another arrest today on further charges of economic crimes- I am worried-I fear that the evidence in this case was destroyed by Anthony herself(& perhaps she was ably assisted by someone else)I think the reality is that Orange County Investigators have little or nothing to go on-They may strongly suspect her of involvement in the disappearance/murder/manslaughter/involuntary manslaughter of her little daughter-but the proof has proven difficult to define her crime-I think that this is no accident-it is by design- the failure to report was a deliberate act, Anthony’s attempts to misrepresent the truth was a deliberate attempt to mislead the investigation-
It is a very sobering thought to realise that this girl has every chance of walking away from this crime-I wish that someone would come forth with some relevant information. Someone has to have seen this person, during the dates between 15th june to the 15th july-She disposed of this child’s body-probably just prior to the car “allegedly” running out of gas at the Amscot parking lot-Personally I feel she deliberately choose that location adjacent to the dumpster-as an effort to camoflage any remaining stench/odour emanating from the trunk-Anthony is anything but stupid-she is very definetly manipulative & calculating-She probably drove around for a day/two with Caylee’s body in the trunk of the car, while she reasoned just where & what she would do- to ensure she would evade detection-completly. I feel her actions were born out of self preservation-Thus Caylee’s resting place, is very probably not in any way born out of sentiment-Anthony’s fear of possible detection meant she placed/disposed of Caylee in such a manner, that ensured Caseys safety. The Babysitter story was only invented after the fact-it was designed to simply explain away Caylee’s continued absence to family & friends- I think by the time, that the police became involved, Anthony had lulled herself into a false sense of security-I think SHE really did feel that she could continue to FOB her mother off-I do not think she had a particular plan-I think she honestly thought that this would have been dealt with, within the confines of the family-I think she never considered/imagined that She would get questiond (except superficially) arrested/charged-I think she felt the family would simply back her up-which ironically enough they have endeavoured to do, but for day 1 and Cindy Anthony’s 911 calls.

I think Casey had plenty of time to drive around, or park and think. Her goal is to preserve her butt (and look good coming in and out of court) come hell or high water.
Casey is sly not brillant. She’s smart but not above making blunders. It’s ugly but she asked for it when she thought she was above her manipulating, greed, lust and pride.
I can’t understand how investigators solve any crimes and there are some pretty complicated well planned out work from professional criminals, when they can’t seem to uncover the truth in this situation. A woman of Casey’s stature did not dig up earth and bury that baby very deep. The shovel was probably to cover a bit prior to moving that baby from the back yard to the trunk or to transport the baby from the yard to the trunk and then to the jaws of the gators. They say the chances of their being truth to the specualtion that a gator ate the child are highly unlikely. They said a gator wouldn’t dig for a body……..I say it is highly unlikely that Casey buried the child. I would specualate that she heard of gators all her life and knows it wouldn’t take long for a gator to find a tot lying in an area they frequent.
I too as some of you have mentioned here wondered why we didn’t hear the detectives ask casey where she went then if not to work like she claims she did.
Ok., ok, back to June 9th and Casey is beginning to seriously feel the pressure of needing to be single again. She’s hurting for money and Caylee is putting a crimp in her day/night. Casey’s obviously using sex to eat, sleep and be comfy at night while she has to hassle putting Caylee to bed, feed, dress, get to the bathroom, feed again, entertain, cuddle, sing to, lie to, force to shut up, and do it all again day in and day out. She needs someone to get this child/burden off her shoulders. SOMEONE has to want to “keep/help” her!
So, she sits at parks during her non-working days and sees all kinds of guys who’d walk off with a tot. Weird women as well. She knows all kinds of low lifes from her street savvy days. ANYONE COULD BE ZANADIA. To me, that’s the easy part. The hard part is to keep up the story. The next hard part is to prove where she’s been for that time after we have a “missing” Caylee. She gave it a month and she really doesn’t know where the child is now.. She’s beginning to believe it herself! Now she’s proud of her success! She really doesn’t know where Caylee is!!

I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that Caylee was “given” to some sex ring. They know how to do things sneaky, sneaky, sneaky.

I don’t understand why Casey keeps getting out of Jail. The whole thing is wierd. A precious little girl is missing and probably dead and all any of these people want is to be on TV. Bounty Hunter Padilla is a perfect example. Total Low life Trash. Caseys Lawer is trash too. I cannot believe that Caseys Parents really believe that a babysitter Kidnapped Calee. I think that Casey was working as a Prostitute. Thats probably the only kind of Job she could get and something that she would enjoy. Caswey was smoking a lot of Pot, getting her nails dones ect and all that takes Money. She was with a lot of Men during the time that Caylee was missing and some of them were Cops. Sounds like Prostitution to me. One of the the Men may have been her Pimp. Pimps help there ladies out because they want to keep the money coming in. Someone possible killed Caley and I would bet it was Casey and someone (Maybe her Pimp)helped her get rid of the body. These are thoughts to Ponder. I pray that justice is comes for Calee.
The death in the trunk could have been anything besides Caylee. Yes, bad smell. Yes, proof something was dead there. Yes, but what? Not necessarally Caylee. I’d love for them to prove it so we can move on.
Casey’s ability to smile, dance, walk like she’s important, smile in court while this “search” is on for “lost” Caylee continues to suggest to me the baby is safe and sound in someone else’s possession.
I still think she let someone take Caylee. Not reporting it gave the person all the time they needed to truely disappear.
I can get lost in my county in an moment… someone else can dissolve into other states, other countries if given a months head start.
Another consideration regarding looking for Caylee..if she’s alive.. all they have to do is give her a buzz cut, put boys clothes on her and she won’t look much like a girl. If she’s in a climate that is cold a winter jacket with the hood zipped up – she’s not going to look like the Florida girl.
This Casey is going to walk scott free. I”m convinced.

Well, there isn’t much more we can about Casey Anthony. She has already laid out her story, and any one with common sense know what she has done.
But her mother and father, I cannot understand why they would want to make such a big smoke screen to try and save her life. I wonder if anybody in that family really cared about little Caylee.
I think she was pushed back by everyone. Cindy knew what kind of a person Casey is, but you know she didn’t really want her either, and she would never have let Casey walk out of that house with this wonderful little girl. Please somebody try and talk some sensr into their heads so they can find little Caylee, and just maybe if they didn’t uphold Casey the way they are, she might really feel so lonely that she might actually breakdown and tell the truth for a change.
I have a daughter who is 29 and a son 32. My daughter has a little girl 19 months old and she is my sunshine. I have tried to put myself in their shoes but it doesn’t fit. My heart would be broken, but never would I take up a daughter like this. She will have to face the consequences.
Caylee Anthony Theory
Days prior to Caylee’s disappearance. Cindy threatened Casey she was going to take Caylee away from her. Casey fought back. Neighbors have documented that their was a horrific fight. Think of what Casey has told us…she left her with the babysitter 31 days ago. (We know her mom was in fact that babysitter she told everyone she had) That put it to June 15th…..who had Casey that day? CINDY—there is evidence of that, the video at the great-grandfather’s nursing home. Cindy and George lied at first putting the disappearance to a week prior until that video surfaced. Who ties Casey and Caylee together on the 16th? George…however, it is in documents Casey spent the night at Tony Lazarro’s house on the 15th…hard to believe she was up and around by 8 am at the parents house the next day.
My thoughts are Cindy in fact killed Caylee…a crime of passion because Casey was threatening to take her away where Cindy would never see her again. Left her for Casey to find dead. Made Casey cover the whole thing up…meanwhile setting Casey up to take the initial fall….KNOWING she would not actually get convicted of murder (Casey) because Cindy indeed was the murderer. We know Cindy is about as dishonest as her daughter is….definitely would put doubt in my head…..Financially speaking the Anthony’s were in trouble….do you think maybe they realized how much money people would have sent them in this “search” for their grandaugher? I know I for one…in the beginning researched Zenaida Gonzalez…found four that matched Casey’s description, two with ties to New York, Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico…had phone numbers and physical addresses…called, emailed, and mailed them my contact info for them along with a check for $100. (This was back in early August). My check was cashed four days after I mailed it…but no one ever got in contact with me to find out the addresses of those Zenaida’s.
After that I really began thinking this was a hoax…that they were in it for the money…then finding all the allegations out there…regarding Cindy and her state of mind and the relationship with Casey….I bet the final word was…if she (Caset) is not going to let me have her (Caylee)…I won’t let Casey have Caylee then ….killed Caylee….and the rest is unfolding right in front of us now!
I don’t have any doubt that Caylee died at the hands of her mother, Casey. I keep pondering whether it was accidental and she tried to cover it up, or whether it was premeditated murder. The evidence suggests the latter, but I just seem to accept that—it’s so hard for me to imagine her actually killing her on purpose. I’m interested in what others think about this.
