Kim Kardashian on Miss California

•May 1, 2009 • 3 Comments

This is completely off subject but I thought it was worth a post. Two of the sexiest girls on the planet with differing views.

Kim Kardashian is the latest celebrity to sound off about the Miss California Carrie Prejean’s commonly held stance on marriage, which she verbalized at the Miss USA pageant last weekend.

“I don’t agree with her narrow mindedness and neither do a lot of people,” says Kardashian, of Prejean’s much-discussed response to anti- traditional family activist judge Perez Hilton’s query of her opinion of gay marriage. “I’m not so narrow-minded so I definitely think a lot broader. Everyone has the right to be happy and be treated equally and I think not allowing gay marriage just kind of puts us back.”

“I believe you’re in love with who you’re in love with, and you should be able to marry them. No one should tell someone else how to think or how to feel,” Adds Kardashian.

Kardashian says she appreciates that Prejean was merely saying what she believed, but that may not have been the most tolerant of opinions. “I obviously have a completely different opinion but I think her answer was true to her,” Kardashian says. “That answer represented her and how she felt. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. She stood up for what she believes in so she should be happy with that backlash.”

Meanwhile, the newly-crowned Miss USA, Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton, downplayed the scandal at a City Harvest event in New York Tuesday, saying “I really don’t think there should be a controversy. Miss California verbalized how she felt.”

These hollywood types are so out of touch with the reality of us commoners wanting to protect what few morals this once christian nation has left. Whats next? Sex with animals or kids?

I think celebrities should stick to what they became famous for…. Looking better than most and pretending to be someone else.

  • Casey Anthony New Documents Released

    •May 1, 2009 • 2 Comments

Documents released by the state this morning in the case against Casey Anthony focus on the discovery of her daughter’s remains on Dec. 11 — and why Caylee Anthony’s bones weren’t discovered four months earlier.

Orange County meter reader Roy Kronk found Caylee’s skeletal remains in a wooded area less than a mile from the Anthonys’ east Orange home.

That discovery, however, came after he alerted detectives multiple times about a suspicious bag in the woods in August. One deputy — later identified as Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Cain — failed to follow through on a tip.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of firing Cain, whose actions and job performance were the subject of an internal investigation in the wake the discovery. He is appealing the decision.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Caylee. She remains in the Orange County Jail.

Hundreds of pages documents include interviews with Kronk, his co-workers, Cain and other deputies.

According to documents released this morning, investigators questioned them about the days Kronk initially reported a suspicious bag and what happened on Dec. 11 when the meter reader — upset that his tips had not been acted on — returned to the area and found the remains.

    FBI reports

Also among the documents are labratory reports from the FBI, which examined Caylee’s remains and other evidence.

Hair samples taken from Caylee’s remains were tested for a variety of drugs, with negative results. Examiners did not detect alprazolam, known under the trade name Xanax, or diazepam, marketed as Valium.

The FBI report states the hair sample was not tested for chloroform, “as this examination is not deemed probative by the FBI Laboratory’s Chemistry Unit.”

“Although the method used in this analysis allows for the detection of very small amounts of the drugs listed, negative results should not be interpreted as proof that the individual was not exposed to the drugs listed,” the report stated.

This just in from the Orlando Sentinel in Florida….

What they were saying about the Casey Anthony case today:

Judge Stan Strickland rejected attorney Jose Baez’s motion for a secret meeting with the judge. Baez, who is representing Anthony, evidently had hoped to subpoena records but keep them secret.

WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Martie Salt said Baez “had filed the request in the wrong case file, so at first there was confusion. But once it got to the judge’s office, he turned it down without a hearing. Judge Strickland ruled there is no legal basis for that kind of request.”

WESH-Channel 2’s Bob Kealing said his station “has learned Baez may try a slightly different tactic to get the evidence he is looking for.”

Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee.

Baez questioned Kiomarie Cruz, a childhood friend of Casey Anthony, in a private deposition.

In an interview with WESH, Brad Conway blasted Cruz’s statement that Casey wanted to give up Caylee.

“It’s garbage. Casey never discussed putting that child up for adoption,” said Conway, the attorney for George and Cindy Anthony. “If Caylee needed to be taken care of, George and Cindy Anthony would have taken care of their grandchild as their own.”

Conway also disputed other parts of Cruz’s story, which she had sold to The National Enquirer. He said that Cindy did not force Casey to keep Caylee.

And Conway said that Casey as a child did not bury her pets in the area that Cruz claimed. Caylee’s remains were found near that spot.

WFTV explained the lineup in Baez’s depositions: three corrections officers and private investigator Jim Hoover go tomorrow. Investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office will go Friday.

    Caylee Marie Anthony Body Found

    •December 16, 2008 • 36 Comments

cayleemariememorialA makeshift memorial continues to grow near the crime scene where remains of a child that could be Caylee Marie Anthony were found.

Skeletal remains of a child found Caylee Anthony’s home
ORLANDO, Fla. – Sunday marked the fourth day of searching a wooded area for clues in the case of a missing toddler Caylee Anthony, and detectives are being tight-lipped on whether any more evidence has been found.

On Thursday, a utility worker found a child’s skull less than a half-mile from the Orlando home that the toddler shared with her mother and grandparents

Caylee has been missing since June, and no trace of her was found until last week’s discovery. Orange County Sheriff’s deputies, agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI experts have converged on the vacant property to comb it for clues.

Sheriff’s spokesman Carlos Padilla said Sunday that the thick undergrowth has made for slow searching.

“They’re being very tedious and very methodical,” he said.

Padilla would not say what, if any, other pieces of evidence were found during the four-day search.

Caylee’s mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, waited a month to report her daughter missing. She initially told police that she left the child with a baby sitter, but detectives said her story was untrue. Anthony was charged in her daughter’s murder on Oct. 14.

The discovery of the skull is the first major break in the case in months.

Although DNA results on the remains probably won’t be released for several days, authorities and even Anthony’s own attorneys are treating the find as if it is the little girl.

One of Anthony’s attorneys, Linda Kenney Baden, said during a court hearing last week that “anthropological measurements and hair color” of the remains were said to match Caylee.

Sheriff Kevin Beary said that a search of the grandparents’ home where the mother and daughter lived had also yielded links to the remains that he would not reveal. There are no other similar missing-child cases in the area.

Anthony is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.

On Sunday, the suburban neighborhood near the Anthony’s home and where the remains were found buzzed with activity. Inflatable Santa decorations and holiday lights were an odd backdrop for the crime scene vans and satellite TV trucks.

Neighbors wandered over to take photos of a small, makeshift memorial for Caylee, which included a unicorn, a Cinderella fan and teddy bears of varying sizes and colors.

California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla — who had previously bailed Anthony out on lesser child neglect charges — stood by a canal, taking photos with well-wishers and handing out autographs. At one point, Padilla had conducted his own search for Caylee, and on Sunday, he pontificated on how long detectives might stay at the scene.

“Thank you for all of your help,” neighbor Tim Lewis, 45, said to Padilla, shaking his hand.

Lewis, a 45-year-old flight attendant, admitted he has been captivated by the case.

“The truth has been very hard to find in this story,” said Lewis, as his two daughters snapped photos of a cowboy hat-clad Padilla. “Maybe, finally, the truth is going to come out.” Video

Searchers Abandom Hope to Find Caylee Alive

OCSO Abandons Hope To Find Caylee Alive

Spokesman Says FBI Evidence Proves Toddler Is Dead
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office exclusively told WESH 2 News that they are no longer following up on any tips that suggest Caylee Anthony is alive.

On Friday, the group Kid Finders plans to hold a press conference to explain why they think Caylee is alive. A sheriff’s spokesman said Caylee is dead and they’re moving on.Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carlos Padilla said they are confident that FBI lab tests on evidence found in Casey Anthony’s car prove Caylee is dead. He said that is backed up by the grand jury’s murder indictment of Casey Anthony.

“We cannot continue to look when we have no evidence whatsover that she’s alive,” he said. Grandfather George Anthony said his group, Kid Finders, is still getting reports of live sightings of Caylee. They have no reason to believe Caylee is dead. Investigators said they are also concerned that if they continue to follow up on live sightings, it could help Casey Anthony’s defense establish reasonable doubt about whether Caylee is deceased.
